Comber were at home on saturday in a league
match against Holywood and came away with a
4-0 victory.Such was Combers' dominance that
keeper Nicky Cowdy had only to make one save
the entire match. After the previous saturday's
result Comber wanted to get back into a winning
way and this is just what the team did. After
10 mins. Andy Bowden hit the bar with a rasper,
some
players were calling for the "specsavers"
nomination, but this would have
been harsh. Comber's pressure was relentless
and after a series of corners
they went in front when Ryan Haire rose like
a salmon and headed home from a
pin point cross from Davy John Boal. 5 mins
later it was 2. Shane Andrews
found Ryan Oliver in space (what a pass that
was) and "Ollie" waltzed past
two defenders and cooly slotted home.Andy Bowden
made ammends for his
earlier miss when he chipped the keeper just
before half-time. The second
half was a bit of a damp squib, Comber were
in cruise control although Gary
Craigan should have scored when he was put through
on goal and after beating
the centre half he pannicked and fluffed his
shot much to the ammusement of
the supporters in the main stand. He did however
have a hand in the 4th goal
when his pinpoint cross was met by sub Jonny
Gibson who headed in from 6yds.
