The 3rds were away to Rosemount Rec on saturday
and in a tough encounter lost by 3 goals to
nil. The result flatters R'mount as the Rec
squandered several good chances. Colin "Millartime"
Millar was through on goal , but his shot was
woefully off target, in fact Newtownards Airfield
diverted one of their aircraft that was coming
in to land!
Andy Bowden saw a header cleared off the
line and Gary Craigan wished that he had
been dropped instead of his brother Stephen
when he put himself forward for the "SPECSAVERS"
award.
At half-time it was 0-0 and it
looked as if which ever
team scored first would win it. this is exactly
what happened. Rosemount
scored a real scrappy goal, but with 30 mins.
to go the Rec had a good shout
for a penalty but the ref said that it was outside
the box, but his guide
dog was adamant that it was inside. However
with too many players having an
off day the Rec just did not look as if they
would score and so it turned
out.
