Comber returned to winning ways with a comfortable victory over Larne Colts. Comber started the first half with a strong wind on their backs and it was always going to be important that they ended the first half with some kind of a lead to defend in the second period. The first goal arrived after a largely uneventful 8 minutes when a shot by James McVicker somehow managed to trickle past the Larne keeper – a terrible mistake! Five minutes later it was 2 when a good run from Hanna saw him fire in another weak shot which the keeper again made a hash off. Despite having all the pressure Comber failed to score again in the first half with the Larne keeper doing well in making up for his early errors.
At half time it was difficult to know if a two goal lead would be enough against the gale force wind. Comber set out to defend their lead but within 2 minutes found themselves a further goal ahead when Wilson cut in from the right to fire past the Larne keeper. This goal seemed to knock the heart right out of the Larne side and after this setback they failed to compete effectively in the rest of the match which saw further goals from Comber coming from Clifford, Gabbey, Halliday, Hanna and McClure.
