Under 13's Match Report

East Antrim Youth League - Shield
Triangle 3 : 2 Comber Rec
Valley Park
Saturday 12th  April 2008

A really disappointing result in a game which the Under 13s could and should have won.  The fact is that the match was lost in the first half when Comber should have been two goals in front yet left the field at the interval all square at two each.  Wilson playing up front for the first time this season added pace and aggression to the forward line and things looked bright when he put Comber into the lead on 15 minutes.  Unfortunately, despite having all the play, a lapse in concentration at the back allowed a quick equaliser.  Comber continued to do most of the attacking and again took the lead with 8 minutes of the half remaining - another fine individual effort from Wilson.  Again this looked a promising situation until the self destruct button was pushed for the second time in the half resulting in another gift wrapped Triangle goal.

The second half saw Triangle come out much stronger and have the bulk of the few chances created by either side.  The winning goal arrived early in the half when a cross from the left saw the Triangle forward nip in to score past Hackett with an unopposed header.
All in all very disappointing and a result which leaves any chance of a shield final hanging by a thread.
