Both teams started the game very confidently
and clearly it was going to be a close encounter.
Each team had chances which they failed to put
away, with Chimney Corner looking the stronger.
Comber failed to stop the away sides number
7 who had frequent attacking runs. Eventually
they did score when an attack on the right was
finished off with a strong shot leaving Anderson
no chance. Almost immediately a Comber attack
put the scores level when Wilson cleverly flicked
the ball over the oncoming keeper.
At halftime Comber made a couple of changes
and the game was still competitive with both
sides having chances. Comber failed to deal
effectively with Chimney Corners' attacks allowing
them to run too freely with the ball and not
putting the challenges in early enough. Again
this week the Comber midfield didn't release
the ball quickly enough to each wing to exploit
the space. However it was Comber who scored
next when Wilson hit his second, continuing
his recent good form. Another Wilson effort
was disallowed for offside and Chimney Corner
pushed hard for the equaliser which eventually
came with 5 minutes to go. Comber needlessly
gave away a freekick which was swung in and
somehow trickled over the line at the back post.
Two points dropped by Comber who appeared to
have the win in the bag.
All in all a fair result for both teams, with
the away team leaving the ground a lot happier.
