Ballysilan 0 : 12 Comber

After a disappointing display away to North
End a week earlier a better performance was
needed to boost morale. This was achieved as
Comber won their first away match of the season.
Again like last week Wilson was well up for
the game and quickly scored for Comber. A great
cross by Whiteside, was then headed in by an
unfortunate home defender to make the score
2 - 0. More goals followed with Manley scoring
two on his striking debut, and Wilson scoring
a further three to make it 7 - 0 at half-time.
Comber were able to make changes at half-time
with all three subs coming on to add fresh legs
to the game. With Comber still pushing forward
more goals were inevitable. Millar found space
on the right wing to run and score twice. Childs,
who was determined in his play all of the game,
deservedly scored as he shot through a crowded
penalty box. Manley completed his hat-trick
when he ran through unchallenged and slotted
past the oncoming keeper.
Manley then served as great utillity player
when he swapped positions with goalkeeper Anderson
as by then the result was beyond doubt.
Buchanan who had earlier come on as a sub then
scored when his left foot effort from a tight
angle appeared to go through the keepers legs.
Lucky Luke! (That should keep mum happy?)
A lot of credit must go to Ballysillan whose
heads never dropped despite conceding so many
goals. An excellent example to all! A much better
performance by Comber as all players put in
maximum effort and gained the three points,
but tougher matches lie ahead.
