Comber found themselves again at the Valley for a crunch Plate tie, in which they needed a draw to qualify for the final aginst Barn. Both sides started well and the game was a very even contest. Larne scored midway through the first half after a bit of a lapse in the Comber defence. Almost immediately Comber responded well, and when Childs was brought down in the box the ref pointed to the spot. Millar stepped up and smashed in a great penalty making the score level. Comber again piled on more pressure with Buchanan and Walker working well on the left eventually earning a free kick on the corner of the box. Whiteside fired in a brilliant shot into the top right corner, making it two one at halftime.
Comber again had chances to extend their lead with Wilson and Millar hitting their shots inside. Larne then started to play better and Manley in goal and Burgess at centre back blocked their efforts. With a few minutes to go Larne took a corner which deflected in off the unlucky Burgess to make it 2-2. Comber held on the remaining minutes to book their place in the final. A deserved point for the Comber boys who were resiliant at the back and showed great effort in midfield.
