What a difference from last week. From kick off Comer immediately took the game to North End, playing great passing football, and working hard for each other. Early on Comber made chance after chance with Walker and Wilson having great success, particularily on the left wing. Walker found himself clean through, but hit his shot directly at the keeper, while Wilson could have done better from close range after a super Whiteside cross. Comber eventually scored when Walker burst through the North defence, and when in the box hit a strong shot past the keeper. Just what the Comber boys deserved.
However North End on their first attack, scored when the unfortunate Burgess poked the ball into the net after a mix up in the Comber defence. Comber to their credit pushed forward again, and Wilson got his goal when he chased down a North End back pass, the ball broke free and he confidently passed the ball into the net. Comber clearly could have been four up at halftime, but failed to add to their lead.
The second half was a more even contest with North End playing with more spirit looking for the equaliser. Manley in goal pulled off two or three brave stops to maintain the Comber lead. The Comber defence were solid, and the midfield worked tirelessly particularly Anderson while holding their shape to see out the game. That was three great points deservedly won.
