The game started off even enough with both teams doing their best to play football in difficult windy and wet conditions. Early on Manley made a couple of great saves diving at the feet of the Larne striker, and then stopping a powerful shot.
However Larne eventually made the breakthrough with two quick goals, the second of which was a stunning shot from outside the area. With a slightly changed back four due to illness, the Comber boys did their best. Comber had a few chances of their own but failed to make them count.
Changes were made at halftime, and Comber hoped to get a goal to make a fight of it. With Comber pushing forward in search of a goal, they failed to hold their shape and were caught out on the break, with Larne scoring their third, which was another cracking goal. Then, from a cross on the right, McCloskey took a touch then smashed a great shot to make it 3-1. Larnes' scoring was complete when a shot from the striker took a deflection and went in.
Hopefully Comber will learn a bit from this. They need to hold their overall shape, pass the ball and realise when they have more time. I realise this can be difficult, with parents and coaches shouting from sidelines. The better team won, and with a bit of encouragement Combers' performance will improve.
