Comber suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of a very good Larne Team, who confidently passed the ball around the Comber boys, and used the space well.
Right from the kick off it was clear there was only going to be one winner. Comber were slow to put in challenges early on, and at half time the score was 4-0. The league leaders first was a fine strike from the left, well outside the box. Manley throughout the game did very well, keeping the score fairly respectable.
At halftime, some changes were made, giving younger players a chance. Comber started to play a bit better and had some half chances of their own to score but failed to put the ball away. The Comber defence and midfield improved as the game went on battled for each ball, and never let their heads drop. Millar worked hard in midfield, as did Wilson when moved from his striking position, and the back four were fairly solid against a much better team.
The ref had a steady game, perhaps missing a few offside decisions, and then hearing about it from a rowdy Comber sideline!!
Surely a Comber win is o the cards soon especially if the Comber boys continue with their 2nd half performance, into the next game.
